Dr. Pippa Wood creates a warm, non-judgmental space where individual’s feel comfortable to explore their thoughts and feelings. She aims to challenge your way of thinking with compassion to help you navigate life’s inevitable challenges.
Pippa will work collaboratively with you to understand and address challenging belief systems and behaviours that may be negatively impacting on your life, implementing pragmatic evidence-based techniques and psychoeducation. As a positive psychologist, Pippa’s goal is not only to help individuals function, but flourish.
Pippa graduated from City University, London in 2013 and qualified as a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society in the UK after completing her doctorate degree in Psychology from Leeds Carnegie. She lectured for four years and worked closely with women across health, corporate and sport settings to develop resilience and improve their psychological well-being. As Pippa has recently immigrated to Australia, she must complete a period of practice under provisional status in preparation for full registration in Australia.
Her practice is informed by the latest research, attachment frameworks, ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), CBT (cognitive-behavioural therapy), and DBT (dialectical behavioural therapy). With a background in health and sports psychology, Dr. Wood also has extensive experience with disordered eating, body image issues, self-worth, and anxiety.
